The Gadis Pendant

“Gadis” means girl in Bahasa Indonesia, and this piece is inspired by the Mamuli, a traditional ornament from my homeland, Sumba Island.

In the past, Mamuli was worn mostly by women (and sometimes men) as a sign of beauty and status. Its shape represents femininity, prosperity, and the powerful life-giving energy of women.

In Sumbanese culture, Mamuli is also believed to have a touch of supernatural magic — a charm for good luck and a way to stay connected with our ancestors.

This pendant comes with a 42 cm chain, ready to wear and carry its story with you every day.
