Made Just for You: The Magic Behind Your Custom Piece
Share
Hey everyone!! I hope you’re doing amazing. This is my second blog post, and I want to talk about something close to my heart: Custom Pieces. Some of you have ordered one before, and some maybe not — but I’d love to take you behind the scenes.
Where It All Begins
Some of my favourite pieces have started with a simple DM on Instagram — “Hey Lia, can you make something for me?” Or, “I really like this ring” Custom orders are always meaningful. They’re for special moments — birthdays, anniversaries, weddings - or just to honour yourself. And that’s what makes them so special to me.
It’s a Collaboration
One thing I love about custom orders is that I get to connect more with you. I get to understand what you want, what you’re looking for, and the story behind the piece. Sometimes it’s super easy — you already know the design, the size, and the stone you want. Perfect, we can get started right away!
But sometimes, the process is slower — and that’s okay too. Maybe you have several ideas, or you’re not sure which stone to go for — whether it’s the type or just the colour that speaks to you. Some of you give me the size and a mood or a story, and let me create freely — and I love that trust.
The Process
Here’s how it usually goes:
- You share your idea
- I send you stone options with all the details
- You pick your favourite stone
- I make a wax version and show you
- You approve (or ask for tweaks!)
- I cast it (Only when you are happy)
- Finish it by hand, and send it to you 💛
Every step — from filing, sizing, cleaning, and setting to polishing and packing — is done by me. I keep you updated throughout, and the full process takes about 3 to 6 weeks.
Why It Means So Much
I never expected to love custom orders this much. But they’ve taught me to listen more, to slow down, and to honour someone else’s vision. When you trust me with your ideas — with your stories — I feel it deeply. And I want to give you something truly beautiful in return.
A Personal Note
Craftsmanship is everything to me. My jewellery is never mass-produced. It’s personal, handmade, and filled with intention — from the first message to the moment you open the box. More than half of my customers create pieces for the people they love, and I’m so proud they choose me to be part of that. I hope every piece I make carries not just beauty, but meaning — from my hands to yours. Thank you for letting me be part of your story.
With love,
Lia
