From Sumba to You: The Inspiration Behind My Brand
Share
Hey everyone, welcome to my very first blog post!!
I am excited to begin with a topic that is very special to me - The Inspiration Behind My Brand, Its Colours, and Its Values!
For those who might not know, I come from the beautiful island of Sumba in Indonesia. Growing up there, I've been deeply inspired by its rich cultural heritage, and I knew I wanted to incorporate that inspiration into my brand. That's why I chose "Mamuli" as my logo – a traditional ornament from Sumba Island with a powerful symbol of prosperity, power, and good luck.
Traditionally worn by both women and sometimes men as a symbol of status and beauty, Mamuli represents the strength and power we hold as women. As a woman from a poor and isolated island, strength and independence have been essential throughout my life. This is why my brand is all about women's empowerment.
I believe that I am different now than I was before. Several years ago, I lacked confidence (I couldn't even look others in the eyes when I spoke), felt vulnerable, and thought of myself as inferior. But I'm grateful for meeting sooo many beautiful women along my journey who taught me valuable lessons about being confident, strong, standing up for myself, helping others, and how to communicate better while being considerate of others. You know who you are! I've learned so much from these people, and of course, I want to help others, especially people from where I'm from, to be better for themselves.
For me, becoming a strong woman has been crucial to achieving my goals. It takes hard work, determination, and perseverance to overcome obstacles and succeed in life. But being strong doesn't mean being tough or aggressive. It means being confident in yourself, kind to others, and always willing to learn and grow. I'm constantly striving to be the best version of myself, and I encourage other women to do the same.
Green and gold, my brand's colors, hold deep meaning. Green signifies growth, abundance, and prosperity – all qualities women should embrace. It's a constant reminder to keep evolving, both personally and professionally. Gold, on the other hand, embodies luxury, elegance, and success. It represents the pride and achievements women deserve.
I'm excited to share my brand and hope it resonates with you. Mamuli, a symbol of women's strength, power, and connection to ancestors, brings good luck. Being strong is key to achieving your goals, and I hope my brand inspires you to be your best self.
I believe that sharing my brand and the story behind it can be a fantastic way to connect with you all and give you a deeper understanding of my jewellery and myself.
Thank you so much for reading, and I'm so excited to share my next blog post with you all!
Love you, Lia
