✨ Lil’ Peeps Pendants – A Story Behind It!

Many of you might be wondering how I got the inspiration for my little people pendant. I have a sentimental story behind that beauty.

A long time ago, my mum was pregnant with her third child, and they were hoping for a little girl. Filled with hope, my Aunty Inah—who was studying in Malang, East Java at the time—began creating a special embroidery as a gift for my mum: a tiny girl in a red-and-white dress, watering flowers, with the name ‘LIA’ stitched into it. The artwork symbolised the dream of a little girl and reflected my mother’s wish before I was born.

Back in 2020, when I was still in Melbourne, I saw that embroidery again and felt something special. I thought: what if I could capture that hope and memory in something people could wear? So I made my first Lil’ Peeps Pendant, inspired by that piece that still hangs in my childhood bedroom back home in Sumba, Indonesia.

The very first version of my Lil’ Peeps Pendant was bigger than what I make now—pink, red, and green in colour, and still raw. And I was surprised it got so much attention. I made many more after that, in both gold and silver, mostly as commission pieces. Most of my customers ordered two at the same time—for couples, siblings, or best friends. But of course, people also ordered one for themselves or someone they love.

Now, as my style evolves, my Lil’ Peeps Pendant has become smaller, with many different colours on the belly and the eyes. Even though the pendant looks different now—smaller but cuter—it still holds the same spirit: hope, dreams, family love, and just LOVE.

Many of you now call them “little peeps”—and I’m so happy they bring that same feeling to others. Each pendant is handmade by me in sterling silver, with mostly tourmalines, and comes with a 42 cm chain. You can pick your favourite stone or ask to customise it at checkout or by DM on Instagram.
